Gas station shooting near Santa Fe Drive and 6th Avenue

Police are reviewing nearby video footage in search of one suspect.

DENVER — Denver Police Department (DPD) is investigating a fatal shooting that happened early Sunday morning on Santa Fe Drive and 6th Avenue near Sinclair gas station.

Reports of shots being fired near a gas station came in at 7:39 a.m. on Sunday morning.

When officers arrived on scene, they found one deceased male victim with a gunshot wound.

DPD said the initial call came in from the Sinclair store manager who described the possible suspect leaving the scene on a bicycle.

DPD is reviewing nearby surveillance footage in search of the suspect.

The deceased victim has not yet been identified.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
